JOSEPH ‘BLUE’ GRANT
AKA ‘STILL COOL’
Joseph Blue Grant a.k.a. Joseph "Still Cool"
Blue, singer, songwriter, producer amd musician was born in Jamaica.
Joseph "Still Cool" Blue has been in the reggae business since the
early seventies and while working in Jamaica, he was shared the
stage with music veterans like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Judy Mowatt
of the I-Threes (Bob Marley backing vocalists), Sophia George,
General Trees, Tiger Brigadier Jerry, Freddy McGregor, Wailing
Souls, Sugar Minott, Cornel Campbell, Tony Rebel, Eddie Fitzroy,

Joseph Blue gives credit also to working with some of Jamaica´s
finest artists and musicians like Pabalo Black and Jah Privy (Studio

Shakespeare, Noel "Sowel" Bailey and Junior Dan.
Joseph Blue got the name "still cool" from the popular reggae group
he formed in the seventies. The Jamaican reggae group graced the
stage of many shows promoted by the Twelve Tribes of Israel.
Together they created the anthem for Rastafarians and poor people
all over the world, with number one hit To Be Poor Is A Crime
(1981). This song was covered by Freddie McGregor and again it was
on top of the charts.... The number 2 reggae song of the year 1992
in Great Britain..JPG)
The group has taken a rest from the music scene and Joseph "Still
Cool" Blue migrated to Germany. But he kept the name alive, working
with reggae band "Still Cool" formed by original musicians from
Jamaica.
In Europe and Africa, he has recently released his new CD "Distance
Make No Barriers". Another CD album "digital jockey´s - eight
studies in dub" includes the song "To Be Poor Is A Crime" in spoken
words, from witch the video clip earned pick of the week on MTV
Nordic, Europe. His latest projects are 7" single releases of the
original "To Be Poor Is A Crime" / single "Proverty Is Wicked"
releasd in Jamaica May 2001, 7" single "Distance Makes No Barriers"
released in England and CD album. The launching of the new album
"Save The Planet" took place in England Wednesday August 8th, 2001
for Rodigan´s Reggae Subterian in London. In England Joseph Blue is
busy working together with artists like Lerry Lions, Mark Addis and
even Britain´s number one reggae singer and producer Peter
Hunningale on his new production.
Josep Grant is an advocate and defender of reggae music, as can be
seen in the lyrical content of his songs. However, To Be Poor Is A
Crime and Joseph is still carrying on the longevity of the reggae
music, ever - cool Blue.
