JOSEPH ‘BLUE’ GRANT
AKA ‘STILL COOL’
HISTORY:
1970’S: I began as a toaster DJ on the Santic record label
for producer Leonard Chin under the name YOUTH MOJO
1974: Worked as a steel pan player with various steel bands
in the tourism circles.
1975: Made my first singing vocalist single on a compilation
album for uprising label.
1977: I formed my band “STILL COOL” group. As a result we
made our first No.1 hit single titled: ‘TO BE POOR IS A CRIME’.
For the next ten years we were still busy working the stage with 12
TRIBES OF ISREAL BAND (TTI). We often performed live in Jamaica,
Trinidad, and the UK.
1989: I became a solo artist, migrated to Germany, continued
working as a solo artist, and then later I formed a band, consisting
of musicians from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. We have played
extensively in Germany, Holland France and in UK.
1990’s: I released an album; "DISTANCE MAKES NO BARRIER”.
Many concerts took place in Germany.
2000: One album was produced with digital jockey titled “
EIGHT STUDIES IN DUB”
Which video clips of one of the singles from this album and was
nominated pick of the week of Nordic MTV Europe.
2001- 2006:
I continued to perform live with my backing Band under the original
name "STILL COOL".
Meanwhile producing more songs I also worked in 2006 as a guest
artist with the international reggae artist in Germany.
I ALSO RELEASED AN ALBUM TITLED : SAVE THE PLANET- STILL COOL AT
WORK.
